4 months agoI’ve been coming here for a little over 6 months, as a young woman, mechanics are tricky and I was recommended by a friend here. Nick and Jamie are truly one of a kind. Their dedication and effort into their business is clear, I have always felt so comfortable whenever I am there and they have always addressed all needs. Thank you for all that you guys do and if anyone is looking around for a new mechanic, 100% recommend them.

5 months agoOkay I got a huge problem with this shop. I’m writing this 2 months after I came here and I need people to know: in late October of this year my car decided it wouldn’t hold an idle so I took it to get checked here at big nicks. Was told by the shop the problem was my spark plugs my coil and my pigtail on my piston and they needed to be replaced. Nicks told me it was going to be around $450 I agreed left my car with big nicks anuto and was told to come pick it up in a couple hours. Then I got a call telling me it needed to stay over night and I ageed. Next day I call around noon was told everything was fine and to pick it up around 5pm then I got another call that it needed to stay again. The following day I went down to the shop for answers only to be told they fried my computer and my car sounded like it was going to blow up! I broke down in shambles this small issue was now a HUGE ISSUE. Big nicks told me “to sell the vehicle on Facebook marketplace as soon as possible.” Quote from owner himself. He only charged me $45 and told me that. What the hell. So now it’s December and I fixed my car myself after dumping hundreds to fix what this shop did to my car. THIS SHOP FRIED MY COMPUTER. They put the wrong spark plugs in and also DID THE WRONG CYLINDER. It was #6 that was the issue and they messed with #4. I had my computer refurbished in North Carolina I had to get new plugs wires and coils plus a new battery. Non of this would have happened if I took it somewhere else or did it myself I’m warning people this shop is shady and they would rather tell you “sell the car as fast as possible” then hold themselves accountable for the damage and apologize. I’m so disappointed with this place. Unless you want to get your car back running worse than before or not at all come to big nicks auto. Ps my car runs perfect now cause I FIXED WHAT THE SHOP BROKE it’s a 2005 ford escape and she still has a whole lot of life in her. Thanks nick, for nothing.

4 months agoBig Nick's was recommended, was told I would be helping a young family starting a business out and they were in the neighborhood, closer than my normal shop so I went for it, what a huge mistake! Took car in because it was over heating, paid over $2300 for repairs only to have it break down 2mos later and less than 500 miles FOR THE SAME ISSUE! Big Nick's had it towed back to their shop and said all was under warranty, ok cool, but then after 2 weeks with little and forced communication I finally got it back after being told they weren't sure what was causing the issue & to "bring it by in a few days so they could check it" sure I have nothing better to do, after paying you over $2300! Got it home only to find it leaking badly, which it WASN'T DOING BEFORE, so took it back AGAIN only to be told they need to replace a head gasket for another $1700 or more, and it wasn't their issue because originally they couldn't check pressure or something else that made no sense! Doesn't matter, they should have diagnosed ALL of the issues correctly at the onset no excuses! There's a reason shops are AAA certified I'm going back to my normal shop that is AAA certified, where I have NEVER had an issue, and they were always honest with me, and told me everything involved with repairs even if they didn't find them until after repair work had begun. Big Nick's techs have Big issues!! Please do better research before chosing this shop, which already seems totally overwhelmed with the business they do have.

a year agoBig Nick’s is the ONLY place I will get my car maintenance done in Denver. I also recommend them to friends and family all the time. Nick, Jamie and the crew have such integrity and honest work ethic! I was considering buying a car which ended up having several mechanical issues wrong with it. Instead of blowing steam up my tailpipe, (car reference ) Nick highly recommended and encouraged I return the car and DO NOT buy it. He could have easily told me to buy the car knowing I would have to bring it back for maintenance but instead he said, “Is this the relationship you want to start out on with this car? Return it…” When you find an honest mechanic you hold onto them! Clean shop, nice lobby, extremely fair prices. There’s also a shop dog! He will either be outside when you pull up, or in the lobby. They may be busy at times when you arrive for your appt, just consider yourself lucky you got in, they’re so busy bc they’re good! Find comfort in knowing they will treat you with honesty, integrity and respect.
